Who are Victorious?- in these trying times...
 (Moulana Abdul Hamid Lachporia Saheb,Canada)

Throughout the world today, we are witnessing the brutality, the oppression, repression and intense hatred towards Islam and the Muslim Ummah. Muslims are constantly under attack and we have been stereotyped as a nation of terrorists and fundamentalists by the Western world. Despite these vicious attacks by its avowed enemies, the spread of Islam is unstoppable and Almighty Allah's Din continues to spread like wildfire all over the planet. As people of many societies find themselves rootless, disconnected and alienated, they increasingly seek desperate help in the comforting and spiritual ideological refuge that only Islam has to offer.

In a world of vicious attacks against the person of Nabee Muhammad Ibn Abdullah Sallallahoo Alayhi Wasallam and the incoherent violence being perpetrated against his Ummah, widening inequities, political corruption and shattered families, thousands upon thousands are massing behind the banner of Tawhid and Taqwa. This, my brothers and sisters in Islam is the truth, for seeking the truth and finding the answers in Islam is essentially a populist movement, a bubbling up from below, a march of the distressed, the oppressed and the dispossessed. Almighty Allah Subhanahu Wata'ala reminds us in verses 171 to 173 of Surah Al-Saffat of His Promise:

"We have already promised Our servants whom We sent that they would certainly be helped, and Our army alone will be triumphant."

The promise is further elaborated upon by Almighty Allah Azza Wajjal in verse 51 of Surah Al-Muh'min:

"Verily, We will help Our messengers and the believers in the life of this world and We shall help them on the Day when the witnesses will stand forth."

This is the promise from Almighty Allah Subhanahu Wata'ala to the Ummah of His Beloved Nabee Sallallahoo Alayhi Wasallam for He states very clearly that He Alone will grant victory to the Muslims. Like I've said, we are witnessing a time in the history of our nation where the entire world feels threatened by Islam. The time has now come when we must try to understand and try to comprehend what real "Nasr" (victory) is all about and how we as an Ummah can attain that victory with success and Sabir.

What form can "Nasr" take? Does "Nasr" mean that Islam will be victorious and dominate over the Kuffar and their un-Islamic Jahiliyyah ways of life? Most certainly yes - for that is one kind of "Nasr" and that kind of "Nasr" has been promised to us by Rahmathul Liel Ala'meen. Alhumdoelillah! despite the many trials and tribulations that we are currently encountering all over the world, Islam will be victorious and these other false and un-godly ways of life will collapse because Almighty Allah Subhanahu Wata'ala has ordained that these civilizations are going to perish under Islam.

We are told that on the Day of Judgement, some Messengers will only have one follower and some with no followers at all. Almighty Allah Subhanahu Wata'ala describes numerous different situations for the Ambiya Alayhim Salatu Wasallam in the Most Holy and Glorious Qur'an. All of these Prophets and believers were given a type of "Nasr" that all believers need. They were given "Thabat" or constancy in their Imaan, firmness in Allah's Din and superiority over the unbelievers. They were blessed with the conviction of "Seerathal Mustaqeem" and not to waiver. With this type of "Nasr", I assure you that no Muslim can ever be defeated.

This is very relevant to the situation of the Muslim Ummah today, to many Muslims, the falsehood of the Jahiliyyah ideologies of the unbelievers is not clear to them. There are unfortunately Muslims today who still want a kind of mixture between Islam and the Jahiliyyah way of life. We must never ever allow ourselves to fall under this category for our life on this Doonya is very short and we will someday have to stand in judgement in front of our Glorious Creator and Sustainer - Rahmathul Liel Ala'meen. A mixture consisting of half Islam and half Jahiliyyah should never be acceptable to any Muslim.

When our beloved father - Nabee Ebrahim Alayhis Salatu Wasallam was thrown into a burning pit by the enemies of Almighty Allah Subhanahu Wata'ala was he not victorious over them? He was successful because the unbelievers saw that they could not sway him away from the great Muhabbat that he had for Almighty Azza Wajjal. In general, the archenemies of Almighty Allah's Din have joined forces with the armies of Shaythaan Lanatullahi Alay out of their fear and their intense hatred to see Islam implemented. They have come to despise the Muslims with a passion because of their devotion and love for Islam and their duty to none other than Rahmathul Liel Ala'meen. Almighty Allah declares in verse 109 of Surah Al-Baqara:

"Many of the people of the Book desire to turn you anyhow back to disbelief. They wish this out of envy in their hearts though the Truth has become quite clear to them."

Our Beloved Nabee Sallallahoo Alayhi Wasallam has told us that whenever a Muhmin prostrates to Almighty Allah Subhanahu Wata'ala - Shaythaan cries out in agony and despair since he too was ordered to prostrate but failed to obey the command of Almighty Allah Tabaraka Wata'ala. Similarly, there are many enemies of Almighty Allah's Din who have joined forces and have become agents of Shaythaan with their deep rooted fear for Islam and hatred towards the Muslim Ummah. Many, many verses can be quoted from the Most Holy and Glorious Qur'an to show how the unbelievers despise someone pious who is acting morally - for these enemies of Almighty Allah Azza Wajjal feel threatened by such a display of Muhabbat, Imaan and Taqwa.

They feel that if they cannot divert you from your Imaan, they have lost and are unsuccessful. As Muslims, we must at all times realize that we have been blessed with "Nasr" and must thank Rahmathul Liel Ala'meen abundantly for this great blessing. If we can stand firm in the face of these pressures and obstacles that the anti-Islamic forces confront us with - if we face these evils and remain true to none other than Almighty Allah Subhanahu Wata'ala and follow the truth - then, Alhumdoelillah, we will know that we have been victorious in this life and that we will Insha'Allah be victorious in the Aghirah (Hereafter) as well - Bie Itt Nillah!

This, my respected brothers and sisters in Islam, is one of the most important meanings of "Nasr" - that as a united Ummah we must never deviate from the Divine Truth that we have been blessed with regardless of the hardships and oppression that we will have to bear for the love of Almighty Allah Subhanahu Watala. With such a display of Imaan and Taqwa in our hearts is what will bring us the victory that has been promised to us by Rahmathul Liel Ala'meen.

We should also be aware and we must realize that the pressure and obstacles do not only come from the unbelievers but many times - indeed sometimes even more often - it comes from people who have the nerve to call themselves leaders or rulers of "so called Muslim countries". These so called 'Muslim leaders and rulers' have become puppets and agents of their Western masters who continue to encourage their secular Muslim allies to confront Muslim populist movements with brute force. This is indeed a sad fact of life and this is where we all really need "Nasr" from Almighty Allah Azza Wajjal to stand up to those pressures and to submit to His Divine Will. These puppet rulers and leaders have turned to their lords and protectors in Washington and Whitehall instead of turning to Rahmathul Liel Ala'meen.
What a great shame indeed!

If we realize what "Nasr" really means - even though the Muslim world is in the sorry state that it finds itself in, we can still contribute to the victory of Islam in this world; it will Insha'Allah make us even stronger, even more intent, even more dedicated and devoted to the cause - and if this is linguistically correct, even more victorious. For as long as we stay firmly on the Path of Seerathal Mustaqeem by fulfilling our Islamic obligations with proper intentions, we will Insha'Allah be rewarded with everlasting success and happiness in this life and in the Aghirah. If we are all dedicated towards that goal, may I humbly remind myself and all of you that we all make our Hijrah back to the Most Holy and Glorious Qur'an and to the Sunnah of Almighty Allah's Beloved Nabee Sallallahoo Alayhi Wasallam. By doing exactly that, we will Insha'Allah bring about that "Nasr".

There are still many Muslims who believe that victory comes from material sources - so they think that we should work with the Kuffar in order to be strong enough to defeat the unbelievers. We must realize that victory only comes Almighty Allah Azza Wajjal even if we had all the material resources and wealth in the world. Note the first generation of Muslims and marvel at their victory and resounding success at the Battle of Badr. Rahmathul Liel Ala'meen gave them victory based on other causes which are just as important, in fact more important than the material causes.

The Light of Islam cannot and will never ever be extinguished. Islam is neither aggressive nor oppressive. Islamic ideology is alive and this is having an unbearable effect on its avowed enemies who are slowly but surely being driven to despair. As a united Ummah it is imperative that we march on and strive without fear, sacrificing our resources to regain our lost heritage. As confirmed Muslims, let us honour our Islamic obligations and carefully differentiate between what is TOLERANCE and what is NEGLECT and be sincere and steadfast in striving for Almighty Allah's Din so that He may be pleased with us and grant us success and "Nasr" in this life as well as in the life to come.

"O you who believe! Persevere and be patient, Hold fast and strenghten each other, and be God-fearing, so that you may prosper." (Verse 200 Surah Al-Imran).

Baarak-Allaahu Feekum - wa Sal-Allahu wa-salam 'alaa Nabiyyinaa Muhammad Sallallahoo Alayhi Wasallam.
Was Salamualaykum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuhoo.
